Bariatric Friendly Brussel Sprouts

I don’t ‘love’ veggies. But I know I need to eat them. And after bariatric surgery we need to eat nutrient dense foods. Yes, we need our protein, but vegetables are also an important part of a healthy post bariatric surgery diet.

While, I don’t ‘love’ veggies. I do love these brussel sprouts. Bariatric Brussel Sprouts are easy to make and don’t require a ton of ingredients. In fact, you probably have everything you need – other than the brussel sprouts. Enjoy!

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 lb. Brussels Sprouts (stems trimmed and cut into quarters)
  • 2 Tablespoons Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoned White Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • Pepper and Salt to taste

  1. Over medium-high heat, heat frying pan with olive oil
  2. In a medium bowl steam brussels with water for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Stir-fry brussels sprouts in a frying pan for 3 minutes or until they begin to brown.
  4. Add seasoned white wine vinegar and garlic to brussel sprouts and toss to combine. For 1-2 minutes stir-fry.
  5. Add a dash of salt and pepper to taste. Serve!
